Engaging with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the ongoing AIDS pandemic and the current state of democracy in the United States, these dance-theater works (all Chicago premieres) utilize a skillful integration of text and movement, a dance vocabulary that oscillates between voluptuousness and minimalism, and a rigorous approach to choreographic research.

The solo layers intricate physical movement, up-to-date news information, and current details about Hermann’s personal life to invoke the complexities intrinsic in living fully during challenging global times. See Projects for more information.Popkin continues his ongoing investigation into Indian Mughal Miniature Paintings and their shifting perspective as a parable for our own unsteady ground with a new solo, and a quintet commissioned by San Diego's Lower Left Performance Collective.
